A personal essay on the guilt singers feel when they step off the traditional performance path. It makes the case that a pivot can be a strategy, not a failure.

Las Vegas has world-class stages, world-class audiences and a deep pool of talented singers. Yet classical singers here have far fewer chances to compete, perform and grow than their peers on the East Coast.
The Aria Collective exists to change that. We believe Las Vegas can become a hub for classical singing. Our goal is to build a thriving community here, with real opportunities for the singers who live and train in this city. We want to bring a little of the East Coast to the West Coast.
Live vocal competitions where every registered singer performs for professional judges. See the first annual Aria Collective University Vocal Competition.
Awards for training and private study, so promising singers can keep growing.
Our long-term goal is to build Las Vegas's first opera house.
